Omani Community Awareness of Omani Figures throughout the History and the role of media in the enhancement of Omani?s awareness about their history

Nations are always keen to educate their peoples about the prominent national figures who left behind noticeable influence in their civilization. Such efforts are aimed to solidify national identity and inspire the new generations to follow suit. Oman?s history is rich with many such figures who greatly impacted different aspects of life be it politics, economy, social affairs, culture and religion. This study aims to gauge the level of awareness among Omanis about prominent Omani figures throughout the history. The study will adopt a descriptive approach to collect the data. A knowledge test will be designed and applied on a sample representing all the governorates of Oman. The test will be designed based on certain standards for selecting the prominent Omani figures. The researchers will also develop a questionnaire to investigate the role of media in the enhancement of Omani?s awareness of their history.
