تفاصيل المشروع

Description

Convective heat transfer and fluid flow in porous media have diverse real-life applications in various fields; like underground water flows, filtration mechanics (acoustics, soil mechanics, rock mechanics), petroleum engineering (crude oil production and petroleum refinery), building engineering, geosciences (hydrogeology, geology of hydrocarbon, geophysics), biology, and biophysics. The recent advances in technology, particularly nanotechnology devices with small sizes, are associated with a Maxwell-Cattaneo (MC) effect that cannot be neglected. This project aims to study the impacts of the MC effect on the dynamics of porous media in the presence of temperature changes. Oman is particularly interested in studying porous media concerning underground water and hydrocarbons. We will numerically simulate the mathematical model constituting the physical problem and interpret the obtained results from physical and engineering viewpoints. The successful completion of the project is expected to produce interesting results and could provide novel applications in real-life problems. Strengthening ongoing collaborations with leading institutions worldwide and publishing high-quality research findings from this project in international journals and renowned conferences will enhance SQU's standing and ranking in research worldwide.
