Growth, Doping, and Characterization of optoelectronic properties of Highly Conductive ZnO Nanowires films

Description

A new method combining aqueous chemical deposition technique with UV laser crystallization is developed to deposit a highly conductive and vertically aligned Aluminum/Gallium doped ZnO nanowires array. This technique is simple, low cost, non-vacuum an eco-friendly allows to produce large area doped ZnO films with enhanced structural and optoelectronic properties. In addition, we will consider using the successful material to fabricate n-p heterojunction device and test it for UV-detection and/or Solar cells applications. Also, students (both final year and Research assistant) will have the opportunity, in the context of this project, to get introduced to the state of the art research topics related to new concepts in the design, growth of nanomaterials as well as to be trained in using the available techniques in semiconductor devices characterization.
