تفاصيل المشروع

Description

Unfavorable climatic conditions, a meager supply of water and arable land means that countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) import about 85 percent of their food. Currently, the countries dispose of sufficient financial means to afford the imports, however several risks arise from a high dependence on imports. Global supply shortages or instability along the countries? trading routes could cause serious problems to meet domestic food demands. Should food insecurity become prevalent in the GCC countries, this would have severe impacts on domestic and regional stability.
