تفاصيل المشروع

Description

Reservoir rocks in the Middle East, including the Sultanate of Oman, are mainly carbonates that display various depositional environments. The Ediacaran is a highly active period with significant uncertainties in Earth?s atmosphere and climate. Between these uncertainties, pronounced negative and positive carbon isotope excursions are characterized by the most depleted and enrichment ?13C values that have ever been observed in the geological record. Poorly determined and studied zones result in difficulty correlating and comparing them globally. To link the isotope signatures globally, we will present a high-resolution chemostratigraphy study of the Ediacaran Khufai Formation, Nafun Group, Oman. The study will, thus, be conducted employing an integrated approach, which involves the analysis of field geometries and geochemical (major and minor elements as well as stable and radiogenic isotopes) analyses of the whole rocks.
