A meta-analysis of available information on Oman?s exploited finfish and elasmobranchs

A large body of information exists on Oman s exploited finfish, shark and ray fisheries. Some are published in peer-reviewed journals and books while the majority of such information materials are found in unpublished theses, technical reports, conference abstracts, poster presentations, newspaper articles and other forms of grey literature. The primary aim of this research will be to prepare a technical report outlining the available knowledge on a particular species or family of fishes. This andldquo;one-stopandrdquo; booklet will allow fisheries managers, researchers and students to identify knowledge gaps as well as to use the available information to manage Oman s fisheries, recognizing that some fisheries are data-poor.
