N2 - NFE theory is used to fit the entropy and density of liquid Na along the liquid-vapour coexistence line below 1200 K. For this purpose, an empty core pseudopotential is assumed and a constant core radius chosen which accounts for the entropy. Also, the zeroth Fourier component is given a volume dependence which leads to the observed density variation. The description is then extrapolated beyond 1200 K; it continues to account for the density up to within 200 K of Tc, corresponding to a specific volume of about O. 55 of the critical value.
