N2 - Novel catalytic materials are immensely desirable in the track to accomplish a variety of catalytic organic transformations. A new approach towards constructing the hetero-bimetal MOFs has been developed based on premade linker synthesis (PMLS) and coordinatively unsaturated metal sites (CUMS). Based on this new strategy, a heterogeneous bi-metal Pd/Cu-MOF has been synthesized and productively applied in Mizoroki Heck and Suzuki Miyaura coupling reactions. Self-supported palladium containing MOF catalyst was characterized by PXRD, XPS, SEM, FTIR, TEM and BET. The catalyst has divulged good activity towards cross C–C coupling reaction in environment affable solvent (20% Aqueous ethanol). In the Pd/Cu-MOF, coordination sphere around palladium intimately be similar to the organometallic Pd-complexes that have been earlier established to catalytically activate in all forms of cross-coupling reactions. The inclusion of Pd (II) into Pd/Cu-MOF also excludes the exudation of the Pd(II) species.
